Greg Abbas Fred Abbas Hunting and fishing has been a way of life for Co-Hosts Fred and Greg Abbas. Fred, (Michigan's #1 all time trophy whitetail hunter with the most record book entries), introduced Greg to the great outdoors at a very young age. Greg is an honest, sincere, down to earth host who people respect and relate to very well. He is a six time Michigan State Turkey Calling Champion, a two time Deer Calling and Rattling Champion, and a professional full time guide with numerous trophy deer and turkey entries in the record books. He and his father create their own cutting edge hunting tactics that they have shared with the public through their hunting videos and their nationally given seminars for years and share their hunting knowledge with the viewers through their many on hunt tips and game plans. A-Way Outdoors takes the viewer on exciting over the shoulder hunting and fishing adventures from across the U.S., Canada and Africa.
Bob spends every spare moment with his children, Abby, Robby, Carly and Sydney, enjoying the outdoors. Bob enjoys teaching others, especially kids, what so many have taught him about hunting and fishing. His many interests and talents add a special spark to our team. He not only brings his excitement for the outdoors to the table, but his many years of experience as a business owner. He has had a passion for the outdoors his entire life and enjoys bringing his adventures in God’s great outdoors to film for others to enjoy.
A-Way Outdoors In God's Country Airs The Weeks Of June 28th & September 27th Episode 14 – Food plot info, hunting whitetail with longbow and Salmon fishing Mark Trudeau of the Whitetail Institute goes over important food plot do’s and don’ts. Pro-staffer Dave Balowski goes after whitetail with his longbow. Watch Alyssa Abbas in action as she tries to catch Salmon on Lake Michigan with her father (Greg) and some of the Beaverton Area Christian Sportsperson Club members. Airs The Weeks Of July 5th & October 4th Episode 15 – Texas Hog Hunting This week finds us at the Smith Ranch in CentervilleTexas to do some hog hunting. You may recall, this is the same place where our most popular TV episode of all times was filmed, the giant 734 pound hog. Though Greg and Fred don’t get into nothing that size this time, they do bring you some good archery hog action. Airs The Weeks Of July 12th & October 11th Episode 16 – Manitoba Bear Hunt Put on your bug spray and follow Bob Lindquist into the woods of Manitoba as he goes in quest of a nice color phase black bear with his bow. Airs The Weeks Of July 19th & October 18th Episode 17 – Michigan Whitetail Bowhunting & Virginia Metal Detecting Follow A-Way host Greg Abbas into the Michigan woods in quest of whitetail. Watch amazing scent use footage that even opened Greg’s eyes. After the hunt we travel to Virginia with Greg and Fred to do some relic hunting near the famous Sayler’s Creek battle area, the area of Lee’s last big battle before his surrender. Airs The Weeks Of July 26th & October 25th Episode 18 – Elk Hunting and World Class Fishing in Saskatchewan Grab your oxygen masks and follow Outdoor Edge owner David Block into the mountains in search of a majestic bull elk. For the second segment Greg and Fred do some world class fishing at Saskatchewan's Lloyd Lake Lodge. Airs The Weeks Of August 2nd & November 1st Episode 19 – Deer Calling Tips and Michigan Whitetail Muzzloading On this show Greg demonstrates deer calling methods that work. He then puts the calling to the test on a Michigan muzzleloading hunt for whitetail. Airs The Weeks Of August 9th & November 1st Episode 20 – Scent techniques and Michigan Muzzleloading On this episode we join co-host Fred Abbas and his famous dog "Higgins" as he goes over effective and scent techniques before applying them to his Michigan muzzleloading whitetail hunt. Airs The Weeks Of August 16th & November 15th Episode 21 – Time with the Abbas family and Michigan rifle hunt. You know Greg as the host of A-Way Outdoors, now get to know him and his family outside of the hunting world as he brings you into his house and onto his “farm”. In the second part join guest hunter Neil Bethume on a Michigan rifle hunt. Airs The Weeks Of August 23rd & November 22nd. Episode 22 – New Brunswick Bear Hunt & What to do with your invention Join pro-staffer Mark Ruthruff goes after black bear in the Canadian wilderness of New Brunswick with bow. Do you have an invention and don’t know what to do next? Join Greg Abbas, not only A-Way host but President of A-Way Hunting Products as he discusses the ins and outs of inventing and producing your idea. Airs The Weeks Of August 23rd & November 29th Episode 23 – Michigan Pheasant Hunting and DIV 14 Team A-Way joins up with Future Sportsmen Of America as these young sportspersons try to hit some high flying pheasants. In part 2 we join Greg and Fred in Virginia to do some serious relic hunting at the popular Diggin In Virginia event where they, and over 400 others go in search of civil war history. Can they find and preserve some relics for future generations? Will Fred get dug out of the Virginia mud after getting stuck in his little rental car? Airs The Weeks Of September 6th & December 6th Episode 24 – Alberta Black Bear Hunt Join A-Way co-host Bob Linquist as he travels to AlbertaCanada in search of a spring Black Bear with his bow. Will he succeed? In the second half of the show, David Bloch discusses taxidermy field care tips that can help preserve your trophy. Airs The Weeks Of September 13th & December 13th Episode 25 – All Michigan – Pheasant Hunting, Metal Detecting & Salmon Fishing Join Fred, Greg and pro-staffer Dave Balowski as they go on a fall Michigan Pheasant hunt. Fred and Greg also do a little metal detecting on the beaches before joining up with expert charter captain Craig Kent for some Lake Michigan Salmon fishing. Airs The Weeks Of September 20th & December 20th Episode 26 – Legally blind hunter pursues a monster whitetail and Taxidermy Tips Though a ranch hunt, a legally blind hunter pursues a monster whitetail. He gives inspiration to those with a disability. We then discuss some taxidermy tips that you should know before preserving your prize. |
